Sports Relief Day - posted 26th Mar

Last week we raised £155.86 for Sports Relief. We had a children vs parents/carers dance off which kick started the morning. This was followed by the children running a mile (19 laps!) throughout the day in the playground. Thank you to the parents and carers who were such good sports and well done to the children for completing their 1 mile challenge!

Beech class learnt to make pizza - posted 19th Mar

Last week, Beech class went to Pizza Express and made their own pizzas. They created the dough, added toppings then enjoyed eating their cooked pizzas in the park. Some wonderful writing was produced based on their experience. For more photos of the day please visit the gallery area.

Gymnastics Competition Results - posted 9th Mar

On Sunday 4th March, 45 gymnasts from Radlett Gym Club travelled to Ware to compete in the Affinity Invitational, a floor and trampette competition aimed at general gymnasts who only train a few hours a week. This was the first gymnastics competition ever for the majority of the gymnasts, and they did us proud.

Book Week - posted 5th Mar

Last week was Book Week which was very exciting because in addition to the snow we had lots of fabulous story book characters come into school on World Book Day. We had secret storytellers come to our classrooms and they received a very enthusiastic response from the classes. Thank you to the parents who came in and shared their favourite book with the children. We also had parents come into their child's classroom and make bookmarks with them. Our Church of England Inspection - posted 9th Feb

We are delighted to inform you that on January 26th 2018 our school was inspected by Lindsay Fraser on behalf of the Church of England. We were given the grade of ‘Outstanding’ overall for the distinctiveness and effectiveness as a Church of England School.

Friendship Week - posted 19th Jan

Last week was Friendship Week at St John’s. Using the theme of the DreamWorks Trolls movie, we have explored what makes a good friend, encouraging others, inclusion and showing kindness. We have collected examples of being a good friend and celebrated these in assembly.

Christmas Jumper Day - posted 15th Dec

On Wednesday the children donated £2 to wear their Christmas Jumpers to school. The money raised for Save the Children will help bring lifesaving medicine, food and essential items such as blankets and shelter or kitchen equipment for children less fortunate than ourselves.
